Uganda → Dutch grade conversion table

Ugandan universities commonly report course marks as percentages, often alongside grade points on a 0-5 scale; 50% (D or equivalent, about 2.0 grade points) is typically the minimum pass. Secondary UCE/UACE examinations use separate UNEB letter/division scales, so university admissions should check the credential level as well as the mark scale.

How the Dutch 1–10 scale works

Dutch grades run from 1 to 10, with 5.5 the minimum pass. Most grades fall between 6 and 8; a 9 is rare and a 10 is almost never awarded. Read more in our Dutch grading system guide.

Will my grades be good enough?

For Dutch admissions, Nuffic compares strong UACE combinations to at least HAVO level and a 4-5 year Ugandan bachelor's degree to an HBO or WO bachelor's degree. Competitive master's admission normally expects at least Second Class Upper / good bachelor's performance, while minimum eligibility can vary by Dutch institution and programme.

Important: this is indicative only

These conversions are estimates. An official grade conversion requires a formal credential evaluation, and each university makes its own admission decision. See our credential evaluation and ECTS credits guides.
